Kay Florence Ross was born to Antoinette Ruth and Carl Bernard Ross. She was the 5th of 6 children. The line up goes, Kathy, Kenny, Karen, Krissy, Kay and Kimmy. Unfortunately her parents and all older sisters have all passed and only Kenny and Kimmy remain.
Kay was born in Chicago, particularly raised in the Brighton Park neighborhood. She attended Davis Elementary and Graduated, she then attended Kelly High School and Graduated in 1976. Kay went on to meet Bob Shefcik through a friend and found her Love for Life. They immediately Married and began their life together.
Kay began her career at Hinkley and Schmidt which now is now known as Hinkley Springs. She worked in the Accounting Department for over 20 years. Bob and Kay loved their life together, their friends, family and church but something was missing. They were blessed in 1995 with a Son name Robert Thomas Shefcik. Their family was complete.
Bob fell ill and went home to the lord on February 27, 2012. In the 10 years following the loss of her husband Kay struggled to carry on. With the help of Family and her love for the lord she continued in her faith. Kay passed away on April 17th at 5:45 pm feeling loved and listening to her favorite gospel hymns.

Tribute to our Aunt
If roses grow in heaven,
Jesus please pick a bunch for me,
Place them in my Aunts arms
and tell her there from me.
Tell her I love her and miss her,
and when she turns to smile,
place a kiss upon her cheek
and hold her for a while.
Because remembering her is easy,
I do it every day,
But there's an ache within my heart
that will never go away...
